Translation & Interpretation

Eastern Bridge offers professional, human-led translation and interpretation services tailored to the New Zealand–Asia context. With a decade of experience supporting councils, iwi, community groups, and businesses, we don’t just translate words — we convey meaning.

THIS SERVICE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO ONGOING CLIENTS OR PART OF A PROJECT-BASED ENGAGEMENT. IT IS NOT OFFERED AS A ONE-OFF PUBLIC SERVICE.

Clear and culturally accurate communication is essential when working across languages — especially in diplomacy, community engagement, compliance, and marketing. While free online translation tools have improved, they are still prone to serious errors, particularly with context, nuance, and tone. A mistranslation in an official document, a community notice, or an international business proposal can lead to misunderstanding, reputational damage, or legal complications.

Our team understands local government processes, cultural sensitivities, and technical terminology, ensuring messages land accurately and respectfully across languages.

What We Offer

Eastern Bridge began as a translation and interpretation provider, specialising in English–Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog, Indonesian, Arabic, and Russian. Over the years, we have supported local governments in official correspondence, delegation meetings, marketing translations, and live interpretation during high-level international exchanges.

Today, our interpretation services are tightly integrated into broader international relations work. We provide professional interpreters for:

  • Inbound and outbound delegations
  • Online meetings with international partners
  • Document translation for formal agreements and project briefs
  • Community-level multilingual engagement

This ensures that language is never a barrier to collaboration, diplomacy, or outcomes.

Our Approach

We work exclusively with organisations we already support through ongoing partnerships or defined project contracts. For those clients:

  1. We assess the specific context and target audience.
  2. Match interpreters to the appropriate language and subject matter.
  3. Brief all parties to ensure consistent understanding of terminology and tone.
  4. Provide live support during meetings or translation delivery of documents as required.

We prioritise accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and discretion—working behind the scenes to make our clients shine.

Why This Matters

Miscommunication in international engagement can lead to misunderstandings, lost opportunities, and damaged relationships. Professional interpretation doesn’t just translate words—it conveys intent, respects formality, and builds trust.

With increasing engagement across Asia and the Pacific, having reliable multilingual support is essential—especially when dealing with high-stakes negotiations, cultural diplomacy, or government-to-government interaction.
