Apply for 2027

Applications for both 2027 intakes open 1 December 2026 and close 25 December 2026. The form takes about 20 minutes. Once we’ve read it, we’ll invite you to a short Zoom call.

Before you start, please read the Terms and Conditions. If you are approved for the programme, we will provide you with a participation handbook a few weeks before your departure. You need to be 20 or over by the departure date, and you can apply before you turn 20.

If you are accepted, you will receive a participation handbook before you travel. It sets out emergency contact details, and the processes and protocols to follow in situations that are unlikely but could happen. Volunteers aged 18 and over receive these details themselves. We strongly advise sharing them with family, but as adults it is their choice whether to do so. We also keep an emergency contact database for volunteers in China, based on the information each volunteer provides to us. We do not publish a 24-hour emergency number on this website.
