Growing · selling to China

Selling to China, with the right partner and a clear plan.

We help small and medium-sized New Zealand businesses sell to China, and help Chinese buyers and visitors reach New Zealand. We do it through trusted partners, our work in Jiangxi and other parts of China, and relationships built over more than a decade. This page will become Selling to Asia as that work grows.

What small and medium-sized businesses tell us they need

Most businesses do not need a large agency. They need a clear answer on whether China is right for them, a partner they can trust, and help with the rules, language and follow-up. That is the work we do.

  • Finding and checking partners before any money changes hands
  • An honest view on competition, pricing and whether to start now or wait
  • Plain guidance on rules, labels and brand protection, with referrals to specialists where needed
  • Chinese-language help and people on the ground who can follow up
  • A practical way to test the market, including delegations and showcase options – please ask us what is available

Prices, what is included and what is not are set out in one place. We do not repeat the full price list here, so there is only one version to keep up to date. See services and prices

Community organisations: please ask us about community rates when you get in touch.

Our platforms and partners

Online platform

We are developing an online platform for New Zealand products and services, giving Chinese buyers and consumers a trusted place to find them. Talk to us if you would like to be part of it as it takes shape.

Cultural exchange centres

Our cultural exchange centres in China are places to showcase New Zealand: products, regions, education and culture, presented to local audiences with the support of our partner governments.

Promotion partners

We work with Chinese partners who can put New Zealand products in front of customers. This includes a pilot with a government-owned supermarket chain in Xinyu, Jiangxi Province.

For exporters and importers

Whether you are selling into China or sourcing from it, we help you start with the right people and the right information.

  • Introductions to buyers, suppliers, distributors and government contacts
  • Market and partner checks before you commit time or money
  • Delegations, meetings and follow-up in China, with our team on the ground
  • Cultural, business etiquette and language support, including Chinese materials that read naturally

For tourism

We are building partnerships for cultural tourism into Aotearoa, so visitors from China experience New Zealand properly and communities share in the benefit.

  • Licensed travel agencies in China with outbound licences
  • New Zealand tourism operators ready to host Chinese groups well
  • Iwi and hapū sharing culture on their own terms, with tikanga at the centre
  • Regional tourism organisations linking tourism to their sister-city relationships

Eastern Bridge is an adviser and connector, not a tour company or a trader. Bookings, payments, travel and the sale of goods are handled by licensed and specialist partners under written terms. If a partner pays us a referral fee or commission, we tell you in writing. How we’re paid
